PWA Cold Hawaii

So I'v moved a 2 hours drive from Cold Hawai, Klitmöller. As the Boys from Brofjorden funboardclub (http://bfcsurf.se/) decided to take a trip over for the competition, I decided to join them!

Only 2 arrived as the prognosis sucked. We had a huge house with pool, sauna and jacuzzi all to ourselves!!! A nice day in Vigsö with onshore and irregular 2m waves. But, the sun was shining!

A nice weekend with Åsa locals!

Can't wait to windsurf again!!!

More windsurf...

So far I´v had five days of windsurf. That´s all good. I´v had 2.8 and 3.5 sails and my 55l quad. Its been a winning concept.

A windsurfer struggling in the shorebreak. I was, again, overpowered with 3.5. Notice the fishermen in the back. It´s really windy here.

Me and mom came the next day for a tapas in the cafeteria. The sea was really quiet. A SUP was out.
Probably no more wind until I leave. I could go surfing in Las Palmas...

Tax return

It´s just the time to do tax return. Knowing the wind is pumping in Pozo I still had to sit down and do the this since I had to send it by post. I have to do my tax return both in Sweden and in Norway so it feels like it takes forever.
Workplace.
!
View from workplace. Not bad

Came to Pozo quite late. Rigged my 3.5 Hot Superfreak. At first it was good. Then I was overpowered. One of the Moreno sisters was out and Philip Koster. He was doing planing double forward like it was nothing. Really impressive.  The level of the locals is really high. It´s motivating. They all jump and turn like crazy:-)

Pozo. Notice the Whitchcraft board. Looks wierd. Wonder how it is in the water?

Nice view in the cafeteria:-)

Looks like the wind is dying out. So today looks like the last day for windsurfing. Might be something this weekend. I might go surfing up north.
Hang loose!

El Pozo

Finally some windsurf! I have been in the water every day at Pozo. It takes me about 20 minutes to drive to Pozo from Arguineguin.

Typical Pozo view.

Flag is standing straight out.

Big rock beach.

Since I didn´t bring my 2.9 I had to rent a 2.8. I was overpowered anyway:-)

Fun to try out a new sail. Loftsails Purelip. I was overpowered and I had a bigger mast than recommended so I would say it´s difficult to give it a fair description of the sail. It felt light compared to my Superfreak. Easy to hold in the strong wind. Flexible. Didn´t really feel that the wind was on and off like some of the other guys did. So I guess the sail helped out with that.
When I rigged my first thought is that the sail itself looked well built but the tack (downhaul area) looked cheap.
I would like to give it a try with less wind and a 4.0 for a better feel.

So nice to be inte the warm and sunny Canary Islands. Going to Pozo again today...

From snow to summer...

So I decided the weather was to bad and decided to go for a last minute trip to Gran Canaria. I had three weeks in Cape town in February and no surf in between, so this is it!

All snowy and cold as I enter the airport in Oslo. Perfect day for flying. Not too bad sitting in the airplane writing this. Norwegian.com has free internet access on all flights. That is quite cool!
No problems getting my windsurfing gear onboard either.

Hoping for loads of surf!

Windsurfing Kuau

So. Five days has passed and we have managed to windsurf three days. One in Kanaha, two in Kuau. My sail has been 4.5 and 66l Starboard Quad.
2 swimmingsessions in the sea and 2 surfingsessions so far.
My body is getting sore...a nice change:-)
For some more nice pics from Kuau: http://gallery.me.com/ola.helenius#100183
View over Noruegas.

Kate bottomturn.

Tom topturn.

After beeing in the water a good BBQ and some beer is tasteful:-)
Looks like there is no more windsurfing for a while. So I guess a bit of surfing is in order.

Sons of Maui

First day here.
Sort out housing. Check.
Foodshopping. Check.
Surfing. Check. Yeah...

Going back home after shopping we met a MC gang probably heading for Hana. All Harleys. No helmets. Seems to be the thing here in Maui. Uncool with helmet, I guess...

Surfing at secrets. Too eager to take pics. Beautiful wave. Not too crowded. Sun shining. Mmmm...
