Windsurfing in Chichester - West Wittering and Pagham

Takes about 1h 30 min to drive to Chichester. After 5 trips I know the way there in my sleep:-)

Pagham
29 Nov
I drove to Pagham Sunday morning for some windsurfing and the first thing I see at the spot is this car. A "pimped" Ford Ka:-)

I came close to low tide. The wind was SSW with gusts over 49mph. Almost sideshore it looked quite good! Suddenly almost everybody came out of the water. The wind had gone ballistic. I rigged my 2.9 and went out. First my harnesline broke. A nice surfshopowner from Pagham had a couple my size, so I got them for a fiver:-) Might have been LARWatersports shop?
After a while I was out again. The wind increased all the time. After 1h I was really struggling. It was survivalsurfing and that sucks bigtime:-)
The spot absolutely has potential. Quite clean waves. I´ll give it another try on S winds!

West Wittering
15, 16, 22, 23 November I went for daytrips to West Wittering.
I have only used my 2.9 sail som far. This spot seems to work best on W winds and low tide getting to high tide as the waves get cleaner. Its a long walk though!!!
Of 4 days I have sailed 17hours and 7 of them have been really nice with sun, no rain, nice waves, no crowds, 4m waves. 4 stars out of 5.

Wet and muddy...
Sun is shining for a little while:-)

Nice venue to rig down on. Quite cold though.

Irland 7-11 November

7-11 November I met up with the Boys in Brandon Bay, Irland.
I flew from Gatwick to Shannon, whitch is a 2 hour drive to Brandon bay.Jesper shows how a surfmobile is supposed to look like:-)
Gotta have some breakfast:-)

The waves in this bay are approximately 3 meters high. Looks quite tiny when your standing on the top.
Gorgeous scenery. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Untouched and just gorgeous.

With this camera you would hope for some pic, ey?

Johan getting some air:-)

In total: 5h surfing and 1h windsurfing.

All in all I had a great time. A lot of surfing, spotchecking and good company. Thanx boys for a great time!
I´ll definetly go back!!!

Cornwall day 2

I woke up at 6.00. Ate breakfast and was down at the beach at 7.00. No wind! There was actually one windsurfer in the water hoping for som surf, but he had to see himself defeated I guess:-)

I decided to go sightseeing untill the wind was supposed to show.
I started off with Penanze and then drove to Lands end. An amazingly gorgeous place.

St Ives. A cozy little fishervillage with loads of hills:-)

The wind didn´t turn up at all so I went back to East Grinstead. The really good prognosis was for the next day, so I wasn´t too happy about that.
Hopefully Irland will deliver some fat waves and good vind.

Cornwall day 1

Saturday 31 oct I decided to go to Cornwall for some windsurfing. The prognosis looked fine for Sunday and Saturday so I decided the five hour drive was worth it!
I booked a bed & breakfast at http://www.bostraseholidays.co.uk/

After breakfast I got down to Marazion and checked out the action. The wind and waves were westerly.
http://www.boardseekermag.com/wnews/show/1/2103

I had a 4 hour windsurfing with 55l board and 3,3 sail. Sideshore, 3m waves and a whole lotta good surfers around:-)

After the tide came up the beach soon emptyed.
I decided to try to find another spot.
I went to Gwithian. Nice waves no wind.

Then I tryed The Bluff. Same there. I had a godd days surf so I decided to take it easy the rest off the day. Tomorrow looks like early morning...
