One ocean one love!

NE winds (onshore) and swell from north made Kanaha the only sailable spot today. The swell was big:-)
I got 2 nice hours on the water. The canal closed up at the big sets, so there was a bit of struggle to get out. I got about 10 goods waves and loads of swimming:-)

A canadian sailor in a bottomturn....

He quikly realizes that there is no way he'll make it. There is a lot of water pooring down.

I saw at least 3 people in the water who dropped the rig and swam back in their board. The lifeguard had a busy day.
Johan broke his universal and lost his board in a big set. He hung on to his rig and a kiter had informed the lifeguards who came and picked him up after quite a swim.
We took the car down to kitebeach to look for the board. A supernice kiter had brought it in having one foot in the footstraps of each board. We gawe him a sixpack beer. He told us to inform the windsurfing community that they come in peace. One ocean one love:-)

Johan happy to find his board.

Gisela and yours truly did a interval run this morning.
I feel good and today I am worth the beer in my hand:-)

Lesson of the day:
More than 3,500 humpback whales come to Hawaii each winter to mate and give birth, making Hawaii USA's primary mating and calving ground for these endangered animals. Maui is where most of these whales are found. They are attracted to the shallow seas off Maui's south and western shores, the relative lack of predators and the warm water temperature.
Best period of whale watching is 15dec-15april.
